Noted photographer Elliott Erwitt said it best:
"Photography ... has little to do with what you see, and everything to do with the way you see them." In other words, "Don't photograph what you see, photograph what you feel."
This is a philosophy I put into practice each and every time I pull out my camera. I love dancers, athletes, seniors and families. All of their unique characteristics, hopes, ambitions and attitudes -- are fascinating to me. They are what I strive to capture in portraits, and what I feel sets me apart from so many other picture takers. You are unique. Why would you want your portraits to look like everyone else's?
Great photography is magic. So many variables and conditions coming together in one pinpoint moment to be revisited time and again -- with all the feels.
Wanna make some magic together?
